TiltUP is an amazingly simple, yet powerful, software program for the
design of reinforced and pre-stressed concrete Tilt-Up walls.
​

TAPERED STEEL BEAM/GIRDER SOFTWARE
Tapered Steel Girders & Beams reduce the amount of steel used, increases the Architect's design options &, especially in this time of high materials costs, can significantly reduce Construction Cost &, using TaperSTEEL, reduce design costs.

  • Design Tapered Steel Beams & Girders for gravity & lateral loads;

  • Supports both Imperial (USA) and SI Metric Units (like all POSTEN Engineering Systems programs).

TaperSTEEL is a powerful program that designs tapered steel girders & beams with level bottom chords & sloped top chords or with bottom & top chords that slope up to a high point at the peak.

​

Specify the loading, shape of the tapered webs & flange thickness, and the program computes the Minimum Required Flange Width and bending moment at 10th points, and the shears & shear stresses at both ends.  The deflections at the mid span and the ridge are computed, along with the amount of horizontal spreading if the bottom flange is higher at the ridge than at the ends.

Simply Put:  Whether the beam varies in shape vertically, horizontally or both (i.e. truly variable moments of inertia), or whether the beam stands alone or part of a moment frame, TaperSTEEL will design it.

As an example, with POSTEN, it involved taking the extra steps to further reduce the use of steel & concrete (while improving building performance). Where we found inefficiencies in Post-tensioned concrete designs, inherent in other's software, we provided procedures to correct it.
